SR. BACCALAUREATE
A non-denominational Baccalaureate will be held for all BHS Seniors, their friends and family on Sunday, May 19th at 6:00pm at the Harvest Fellowship Church. Harvest Fellowship is located west of Brighton on Highway 7.

Finals
SEMESTER FINALS
The semester is quickly coming to a close and that means final exams are right around the corner. Remember if you have good attendance, you may be exempt from taking final exams. The exception is honors and AP classes, and all students in those classes must take the final exam. Below you will find the final exam exemption policy and the final exam schedule.
Attendance Reward: Final Exam Exemption Policy
* Students who maintain good attendance throughout the semester may opt not to take the final exam in that class. Guidelines are as follows:
* Students with an "A" and no more than Three (3) absences of any type = Exempt
* Students with a "B" and no more than two (2) absences of any type = Exempt
* Students with a "C" and no more than one (1) absence of any type = Exempt
* AP and Honors students MUST take their designated exam or final.

Busses will run during their normal scheduled times during these days. The Dawg Diner will be open on each day from 7:20 - 8:55 testing times, breaks and lunch. The commons will be open during Lab times for students to study.

SENIOR CHECK-OUT
All Seniors MUST go through the Senior Check-Out process. This will take place on Wednesday, May 22nd from 8:00am to 11:00am. Students will have the option to complete the check-out process one of two ways, the Express Check-Out or the Traditional Check-Out. Both processes are explained below. Students will not recieve their cap and gown and will not participate in Graduation if they do not complete this Check-Out process.

Senior Check Out Process
Wednesday, May 22nd from 8:00am to 11:00am
Express Check-Out
• Have all books turned into Library, and all Library fines/fees settled by the end of the day on May 17th, Mrs. Smidt will give you a Library Express Pass
• Pay all of your student fees on line by May 22nd & Print your receipt. Receipt must be dated AFTER May 17th for payment accuracy.
• Complete the Sr. Survey on your cell phone or at home
• Bring your Express Pass and your Receipt showing all fees were paid on line to Sr. Check out on May 22nd. Attach these items to your Senior Check out Sheet (you will get this in the lobby on May 22nd )
• Express Pass allows you to skip the library line and the Finance Line and go directly to the Counselors for the last step in the check-out.
• Take your Sr. Check-Out sheet, Receipt showing you paid your fees and the Library Express Pass to Counselors to do credit check and pick up your cap & gown.
• You are finished, quick!
Traditional Check-Out
– Pick up your Senior Check Out sheet – Main Lobby
– Bring any books you still need to turn in, on May 22nd
– Wait in Library Line to check in text books, library books & settle fees & fines & get signature stating books & Fees are taken care of.
– Enter Library computer lab to complete the Sr. Survey
– Wait in Finance Line, pay remaining student fees & get Check Sheet signed off as paid.
– Proceed to Presentation Room to see Counselors for credit checks & pick up caps & gowns.
Attention Seniors: BHS will only accept checks as a form of payment for your student fees through April. From May 1st on you will need to pay with a credit card online, cash or money order.

CLASS OF 1973 REUNION
The BHS class of 1973 would like to annouce the dates for the 40th class Reunion. The Reunion will be held on August 23rd-25th. More information will be coming. Renovation/asbestos abatement work to begin in auditorium
Renovation work in the Brighton High School auditorium will begin May 1. The first phase of the work will be the removal of asbestos from the auditorium ceiling and the removal of contaminated duct work. During this work, there will be no student, faculty or staff access to the auditorium. An air-tight containment will be constructed inside the auditorium to prevent asbestos fibers from leaving the auditorium. The asbestos abatement work is scheduled to be completed May 31. The next phase of the renovation will be the construction of a new ceiling along with the installation of new lighting and a fire sprinkler system.
